Has anyone any experience of collecting money from Chris Goddard aka Christopher Stuart Goddard aka 'Renaze Peche' aka 'Terminal Tackle'?
There is an outstanding UK
County Court Judgment against Chris Goddard but as he trades in France (although also using his mother's UK bank and Halifax address for payments and contracts) it is more challenging than normal to enforce a UK court order (which is sometimes why such an arrangement is used).
He describes himself as 'retired' but seems to sell vehicles, electronic goods, PCs and fishing tackle all over the Internet, often via EBay or discussion forums, and trades under varous names including 'terminal-tackle' and 'Renaze Peche'.
He appears to live in Renaze, in the Mayenne region of France, but uses his mother's UK address in Halifax for some transactions. Apparently he has considerable past experience of sales and trading disputes, and employs various strategies to delay publication of negative details.
In the above case he sold
a car transporter on EBay in 2009. When it arrived with the purchasers it had been roughly hand-painted with black paint (although it was painted blue when advertised on EBay), had more wear and corrosion than described, and the chassis had a large crack right through it covered by the new paint. When it was used for the first time, the trailer
broke in half on a busy main road while carrying a car. A serious accident was narrowly avoided.
When the purchasers complained to Chris Goddard he told them to 'Fuck off', and immediately sued them for non-payment (although they had already paid him) in an effort to preempt a lawsuit from them. This forced them to the expense of defending the claim before they could then counter-claim and, more importantly, prohibited them from filing a complaint directly with EBay because Chris Goddard was now a claimant in litigation. Apparently, Chris Goddard hoped that if he made things difficult and costly for them then they would just give up and go away.
Instead they commissioned an engineer's survey on the transporter. It reported that the trailer posed a serious danger to any user and had been sold with extensive chassis defects covered over with black paint.
At the UK court hearing Chris Goddard failed to attend or file paperwork. The court awarded the purchasers both damages and costs. Since then Chris Goddard has failed to pay the UK Court order (CCJ) but is still continuing to trade.
Anyone with a similar trading experience with him, or information on his precise whereabouts, or past experiences of collecting money from him, please make contact via the box below.
Thank you.
